MEET THE TEAM
Mia Fairbanks is a junior and the current General Manager of KMSA 91.3 FM. Originally from a small town in Wyoming, she loves living life here in Grand Junction where there is access to multiple grocery stores. She has 4 years’ experience in the radio business ranging from production manager and DJ at KMSA to the afternoon personality for KSVI in Wyoming. Her love for music and current events makes radio a perfect fit. She loves the outdoors and spends probably too much time hiking, camping or on the river with her husband. Currently she’s pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Political Science.
Office Hours: Monday 10 - 12, Wednesday 9 - 11, Thursday 11 - 12
Kacie Sinton is a senior Mass Communication student from Montrose, Colorado and is the current production director for KMSA 91.3 FM. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and playing video games. If she likes you, she'll probably bake you something. She's also colorblind and got sick of people criticizing her art and design work, which is why she now works mostly in radio and journalism. Three of her articles have been published and she has also worked on a radio audio drama as a pet project with a friend that aired on KMSA in December of 2018. One of her pieces was a feature on the botany and mycology of the Grand Valley, and was republished into Seattle Times' student journalism newsletter in early 2019. You can usually find her in the KMSA production office or in Escalante Hall working on homework or side projects, or on her social media @NovellaBook (it's the same everywhere).
Office Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30 - 11:30

Hey, I'm Justin Platt, I am the new content producer for Maverick Postgame, as well as the new music director for KMSA. I am from Los Angeles California and I am going into my sophomore year at Mesa. I am a Mass Communications major with a sports management minor and the biggest thing about me is that I love to talk. I am super passionate about music, both playing and listening too, and football, both playing and watching. I am not on the Mesa football team but, I used to play in high school and I absolutely love watching and dissecting footage. I like to bring a lot of energy to everything I do and I can't wait to bring to both CMU TV and KMSA.
Office Hours: Wednesday 2 - 3:50, Friday 2 - 3
Matt Kennedy is from Colorado Springs and is a senior at CMU studying Mass Communication! He is currently the Sports Editor the Criterion and the Sports Director for KMSA. Matt is very adamant his faith as he currently is a Student Leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes where he combines his love for Jesus and athletes. He is a Colorado native and loves to explore the Centennial State whenever he can whether that is climbing mountains or camping. In his last year as a Maverick, Matt hopes to grow as a person and continue to build community and fellowship on campus!

Brenna Rhiness is a junior mass communication major from Delta, CO holding the Web Director spot at KMSA this year. You'll hear her voice on "The Wasteland", which she dreamed up last spring for her practicum. It's a punk, hardcore, whatever she feels like playing extravaganza. This past summer she assisted in directing the Grand Junction Rockies live broadcast. For Horizon Magazine, she edited the photos for the Spring 2019 issue. If mass communication offers it, Brenna wants to give it a try. In her spare time she takes photos, reads, writes, drinks coffee and listens to way too much music. Brenna's a random fact generator and enjoys horror films way too much.
Office Hours: Monday 9 - 12
Ryan’s professional career began right out of college. After finishing up at Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in 2004, he accepted a full-time position at MBC Grand Broadcasting.
In January of 2018 he was ecstatic to be offered the position as the advisor of KMSA 91.3 at CMU. It was the perfect fit as Ryan would have the opportunity to bring his commercial radio experience and business experience to his alma mater. Go Mavericks!
